My happy moment is kayaking for the first time in my life and overcoming the fear of being in the water. As a new employee at EAD, I heard so much about the Mangrove National Park, one of EAD’s marine protected areas, which made me want to see the mangroves closely. Being at the mangroves was an incredible experience that I will never forget.

Did you know that the Fossil Dunes are completely natural and were created by a mix of wind, sand and time? The formations are made by wind-swept sand that when permeated with calcium carbonate start to harden and form distinct, varied and abstract structures.
We have one of the largest concentrations of fossil dunes in the emirate, which are located in one place. Geologists estimate the age of the site to be more than four million years.
