HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH
EAD showcases ‘Mission to Zero’ Campaign in ADIHEX

Once again, EAD is participating in the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX). The exhibition was under the patronage of our EAD Chairman, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The exhibition is taking place from 26 September to 2 October. The theme of our participation this year is around the ‘Mission to Zero’ campaign, with a dedicated focus on the Single-Use Plastic Policy launched in 2020, and through which the emirate-wide single-use plastic bag ban was implemented at the beginning of June 2022.

As part of EAD’s future vision for Abu Dhabi, there is an ambitious long-term goal to achieve zero consumption of single-use plastics, supported by zero waste and zero carbon emissions, with zero impact on all Abu Dhabi species through the EAD’s ‘Mission to Zero’ public outreach campaign. The campaign will include various offline and online activations targeting all community members, government departments, businesses, and, most importantly, young people. The main objective is to encourage Abu Dhabi residents toward more sustainable environmental alternatives such as reusable items to reduce the reliance on single-use items while generating less waste.

Traditional Hunting License is now available through TAMM

EAD announced that the traditional hunting license (falconry) is now available through the “TAMM” platform. The announcement coincided with EAD’s participation at Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX). The new service is another value-added addition to the public digital services already provided by EAD across this single platform, with simplified procedures providing easier access to services. The move is also part of EAD’s effort to digitize its entire public services portfolio across all categories in line with the vision and strategy of the wise leadership of the UAE.

The hunting season will begin on 20 October and end on 20 January 2023.

Youth Leadership Bootcamp inspires the next generation of conservationists

The ‘Connect with Nature’ (CWN) Youth Leadership Bootcamp successfully closed its doors in August, delivering a dynamic and educational experience to all participants. EAD and Emirates Nature-WWF trained 13 budding young environmentalists. The CWN Bootcamp continues evolving the ‘For Youth, by Youth’ movement and preparing youngsters to become change advocates while leading the Green Youth Majlis and CWN’s youth community and the future-looking youth advisory council. The Bootcamp aims to further their knowledge and passion for conservation and develop their project management and implementation skills.
